The de Vescovi family, or family of bishops, has been cultivating
grapes in Mezzocorona, in the Campo Rotaliano area of the Trentino
region, for over 300 years. The family settled in an area close to the
mouth of the River Noce (Ulzbach) and began growing Teroldego grapes
which have always flourished in this area because of the pebbly soil and
ideal microclimate for this variety. A few years ago, Giulio de Vescovi, after completing a course of
study in winemaking at the University of Florence, and learning even
more in his experiences working at other wineries in Italy and abroad,
decided to return home to fulfill his dream of creating a great wine. In 2003 was his first true harvest and vinification, and in October
of 2005 the wine was labelled and put into the marketplace.
