Villa Pillo is a traditional Tuscan Farm, founded in medieval times, mentioned in many historical documents. It is located in the heart of the Chianti area, an equal distance from the cities of Pisa, Florence and Siena. We consider all of the Villa Pillo wines at the Enoteca extraordinary values! In the rolling hills of central Tuscany, the Syrah grape produces wines that combine body and elegance with a distinct hint of black pepper and other spices. The Villa Pillo Syrah is grown in three vineyards. The vines are trained on a vertical trellis to allow management of growing shoots and favor the development of color and flavor in the grapes. This Syrah is harvested at the peak of ripeness to enhance these classic traits. It is then aged in small French oak barrels for 15 months. The Villa Pillo Syrah expresses itself as a wine with a deep dark color, aromas which combine notes of leather, blackberry, chocolate and white pepper. Flavors are firm and broad but have a degree of suppleness, which makes the wine very drinkable, even when young. We recommend this wine with grilled meats, roasts and flavorful pasta dishes.
