Fontanavigna is in Castel Campagnano, close to the winery's cellar, where in ancient times, there used to be a fountain and wash-house in the midst of the vineyards. that is were the Fontanavigna or "fountain wine" was named.
This single-vineyard selection was aged in stainless steel.
The 2018 Pallagrello Bianco Fontanavigna is a crisp, delicious white to enjoy over the next few years.
Made from pure white Pallagrello, Fontanavigna is a pale yellow color and the nose has aromas of fresh fruit with dominant notes of apple, pineapple, and melon. A balanced wine with a great aromatic, long finish of dried apricots. Enjoy with a light pasta or seafood dishes.
Beppe Mancini from Terre del Principe is largely responsible for the resurgence of
interest in three of Campania's indigenous varieties; Pallagrello Bianco, Pallagrello Nero, and Casavecchia, ancient grapes that were once prized by prior generations but were hidden into obscurity.
