Tai Rosso is the indigenous grape variety of the Colli Berici, the hills to the south of Vicenza. It is related to the Cannonau of Sardinia, the Grenache of France and Garnacha in Spain, but in the Province of Vicenza it has found its own specific identity, thereby expressing the typical characteristics of its region of origin.
Its ruby red colour is redolent of passion: that of the vine-growers who have always believed in and grown the grapes of this variety and whose wisdom and dedication have, over time, given it the prestige it enjoys today. It is a wine with a wide-ranging bouquet, varying from cherries to raspberries, and one which seduces ones palate with its freshness and delicacy. It is light, appealing and versatile, making it an ideal wine for convivial occasions. It goes particularly well with moderately rich pasta and rice dishes and is a perfect match for Sopressa Vicentina D.O.P. (salami) and Prosciutto Veneto Berico-Euganeo D.O.P. (cured ham).
