I've never experienced such tannins in a dessert wine like I have with Sagrantino passito, balancing the sweetness in an amazing way. Sweetness on the front, a parching mid palate, and fruit on the finish. The other interesting contradiction about this wine is it manages to be rich and thick and full bodied yet somehow only subtely, tastefully sweet and not overtly so. I did not do a tasting against other brands, but it delivered everything positive that I remember about Sagrantino passito in the past.
