Valle D’Aosta is only one eighth the size of Piemonte and has the smallest population of all the regions in Italy. The valley is in the northern, multi-cultural part of Italy, nestled in between France and Switzerland. Many people visit this beautiful valley at 2000 feet above sea-level in the Italian Alps, and with its limited wine production, few wines become available for export.
The wines from Feudo di San Maurizio are crafted by Michel Vallet in the commune of Sarre. Mr. Vallet produces a handful of the most unique, indigenous varieties, from Fumin to Petite Rouge. The Valle D’Aosta wines are some of our favorite and most interesting wines at the store.
Many of the most valued Italian white wines come from high elevation, steep graded vineyards in Northern Italy, and this Chardonnay is no exception. This is a beautiful stainless steel aged Chardonnay that is well balanced. The elegance comes from it's minerality with it's fresh fruit and savory finish.
