surprising other white varietals such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Grillo, Inzolia (Ansonica), Grecanino and Muller-Thurgau. Catarrato Grapes
It is also used widely in IGT wines, where less stringent
winemaking regulations let winemakers coax more from the grape. Here, it is
blended with other varieties like Inzolia, Grillo Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay, but rarely shows
up as a varietal wine.Finally Catarratto along with Grillo, Inzolia and Damaschino
is one of the main ingredients for Sicily’s famous fortified wine Marsala
