From the claylike soil of the Puglia region, the grapes in Le Cruste are fermented in steel vats with prolonged contact with the skins. The grapes then go through malolactic fermentation before aging for 12 months in French oak and another 18 months in the bottle.

Le Cruste is produced from 100% Nero di Troia. These are intense grapes that lead the nose to a wide olfactory bouquet of plum jam, black pepper, vanilla and hints of savory. The palate is rewarded with a deep silky and pleasantly tannic feeling. This excellent red wine has a long finish. Wine Enthusiast, 90 Points
