Verdicchio di Matelica is Belisario's first Verdicchio of the "Riserva"
type. Often Verdicchio are light, immediate wines, but here a year of
cask aging adds an extra layer of complexity and finesse to the wine -
however, only about 20% is aging is on casks, and therefore the fresh,
juicy style is preserved. The grapes for Cambrugiano come from
Belisario's best, high-lying fields, and the vines have an average age
of 35 years.
This is a wonderful structured, Full-bodied, and round white wine. The 2017 Verdicchio Cambrugiano Riserva DOCG is the wine with which Belisario has experienced the greatest winemaking. It was the first in the Verdicchio Reserve. It p.roduced since 1988 only with Verdicchio grapes vinified with the method of cryomaceration Matured in steel and partly in barrels of toasted oak for at least one year and aged 6 months in the bottle. The complexity of this product is a consequence of its organoleptic heritage: high hills, Mediterranean sun, gives it a crystal clear, Luminous straw green with golden highlights. intense aromas of honey, vanilla, and stone fruit, citrus peel on a mineral background. Softness and structure in the mouth are accompanied by an admirable taste and elegance. Aging very well preserving the taste of stone fruit, citrus peel, and sea salt.
Enjoy it lightly chilled for good dishes with seafood.
