Description

This 2016 Verdicchio Cambrugiano Riserva DOCG is the wine with which Belisario has experienced the greatest wine making. It was the first in the Verdicchio Reserve. It produced since 1988 only with Verdicchio grapes vinified with the method of cryomaceration. Matured in steel and partly in barrels of toasted oak for at least one year and aged 6 months in the bottle. The complexity of this product is a consequence of its organoleptic heritage: high hills, Mediterranean sun, gives it a crystal clear, Luminous straw green with golden highlights. intense aromas of ripe tropical traits, citrus peel on a mineral background. Softness and structure in the mouth accompanied by an admirable taste. Cambrugiano is a historic wine for Matelica, boasting a long history of many excellent vintages.
This
is a wine of extreme elegance, with a bright color that immediately captures the taster. The palate is caressed by its softness, perfectly supported by the freshness and flavor of this wine that gives it a memorable length.
A great structure as well as a mellow and harmonious acidity and some subtle hazelnut notes.
Pairs well with Fish, Poultry, Aged Cheeses and Vegetarian or Seafood Pasta Dishes.

1. Just got a new shipment, including a Loisen Pannetone, from EnotecaVinoNostro, one of my favorite sources for Italian wines.
Generally I find Verdicchios a bit on the dull side. This one was not. Not a profound wine, but very pretty drinking.
Tom
