Made with 100% Sangiovese grown on clay, marl, and limestone soils, this delicious Chianti has an intense ruby red color with purple hues. After hand-harvesting and careful selection of the grapes, fermentation takes place in stainless steel followed by a
2-week maceration period. Then, the wine is aged in French oak casks for
6 months, and in stainless steel for 6 months, and an additional 9 months in the bottle prior to release.
The nose has pleasant floral and spicy notes such as clove and cinnamon and other baking spices, with hints of leather and vanilla, over a very rich, base
of blackberry, cedar, and plum aromas.
The firm, smooth, and velvety palate is concentrated, luscious and juicy, and delivers black-currant and tobacco, with a
powerful structure, good length, and bright acidity.
The fine and mature tannins creates a perfectly balanced wine. Compared to previous vintages, it has more depth and concentration on the nose and palate, and more refinement. Pair it with steak, roasted meats, game, hard cheeses, and hearty pastas. 95 point James Suckling
