winery is situated
on the south side of the Orcia
River, which separates Brunello di Montalcino from
packs a lot of ripe fruits, seductive spice aromas and flavors into a delicious
bottle. Primarily Sangiovese 60%, the
blend is enhanced with a Merlot 22%, Canaiolo 10% from Le Bribe vineyard, and Petit Verdot 5%, which bring body and lush fruit to
energy and high tone. The wine is fermented in stainless steel, then aged a few
months in 2nd and 3rd passage French barriques. The result is a wine full of rich
fruit, soft and supple on the palate, with excellent acidity to balance it out.
A full bodied wine that is balanced and silky, Birbanera offers plenty of blueberry aromas, with
hints of vanilla, featuring fine tannins and a lightly jammy
finish. Outstanding wine for the taste and value.
