Borgoforte is a small village in the middle of Villa Pillo Estate, which means strong borg, too strong to conquer. A blend of 50% Sangiovese, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Merlot, this wine is made in the Super Tuscan style. It aged in small oak barrels. Each year Villa Pillo select special wines to the blend to bring subtle complexity and richness without losing the flavor of the traditional wines of Tuscany. Grapes picked at optimum ripeness ensure a wine that expresses itself in its ripe black fruit components and full body. The color is a deep crimson red, and the delicious nose offers aromas of vanilla and ripe dark fruit and cherry. The palate is rich, layered with wild berries, fresh cherries, and rich hearty tannins.
