2015 was a fantastic vintage for Tenutarossa,
as we can see from this powerful, rich, and complex wine, made with 100% Montepulciano
grapes from 40 year sold vines. The grapes are picked up during the
third decade of October, and then pressed and fermented for
20 days. After storage of 18 months in steel tanks to facilitate the
decantation, the wine ages for about 18 - 22 months in 20 hl oak barrels.
Visually, the wine has a rich red color, which is both
bold and beautiful. This amazing wine has
a complex bouquet of ripe red fruit and dark berries, combined
with an earthy intrigue, framed by hints of toasty oak,
tobacco spices, vanilla and cinnamon. It is well-rounded with
a good, soft structure and a long, full finish where
the richness and complexity dominate. It is a perfect pairing with lasagne,
braised or grilled red meats, wild game,
seasoned or herbal cheeses, and sausage. The bottle design called Fortuna, which really suits this elegant wine!
This wine call "Testarossa" outside of USA, since there is a local California wine with the same name.
