This phenomenal wine is made of 100% Negroamarofrom 50-years-old vines, grown at 70 meters above sea level on the clayey and calcareous soils of beautiful Alto Salento. The grapes are hand-harvested with maceration on the skins for 16 days, followed by 12 months in French oak barrique, and further refinement in the bottle. The color is a brilliant beautiful ruby red, and the bouquet is complex and rich, with aromas of red cherries, black pepper, violets, roses, cocoa, and hints of peppermint. The taste is powerful, smooth, and at the same time elegant and well-balanced. The tannins are firm but polite. Pair it with grilled meats, salumi, and aged cheese.
