Montecucco is a relatively new denominated region in southern Tuscany which has produced doc-level wines in its area since 1998.

This fabulous Sangiovese Riserva was awarded a separate doc status in 2011. These DOCG wines are definitely some to watch and of course to drink.
This 2015 is a great vintage for most Tuscan wines specially Montecocco and Montalcino DOCG.

This 100% pure-blooded Sangiovese Grosso from Montecucco by wine-maker Jacoppo Vagaggini, struck you as a great example of a wine that was a cross between Brunello and chianti Riserva, with delightful elements of both.
2015 Sangiovese Riserva is aged in French and Slovenian oak barrels for three years, with long maceration on the skins, which increases the excellent characteristics of this fabulous wine. The color is an intense ruby red with a delicate fruity fragrance, paired with roast meat and chicken. 2015 Sangiovese Riserva has firm and smooth tannins. The pleasant acidic aftertaste is shown in this multi-layered great wine.14% by vOL.

Black cherry, red plum, red currant, a bit of earth, light toast, dried cranberry. Keeps getting better and better as you drink it.
