This is a lovely wine and a remarkable example of Barbaresco, elegance and power are balanced beautifully. The steep Ovello vineyard overlooks the hilltop hamlet of Barbaresco and beautifully trellised countryside. A vineyard that was previously owned by Gaja, this Barbaresco is
offering outstanding quality at a fraction of the price of those made by
its former owner. This is simply devine .
A massive wine of great structure. A deeply perfumed nose, a firm
dryness on the palate and it finishes with great elegance and length.
"Menthol, new leather, blue flower and sage aromas lead this wine's nose,
along with a whiff of toast. Taut and savory, it offers crunchy red
berry, star anise, ground clove and a hint of tobacco on the palate.
Youthfully assertive, fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity lend
structure."
