2014 Cascina Morassino Langhe Nebbiolo is ethereal, dry and elegant. Medium-bodied, it has a medium garnet color, and the balance and density typical of Morassino wines. The nose is fragrantly classic, with earthy intensity of scents of dried red fruits, dark spice, captivating dried red flowers, toasted fennel, and a discreet whiff of oak floating in the background. The palate is deeply fruity but in a classic way, with sweet mid-palate and clean flavors of sour dark cherry, strawberry, and woodsy spice. It features gentle tannins and a long finish.
This is a Langhe Nebbiolo of the Barolo quality!
Pair it with roast meats, lamb, game, and strong and mature cheeses.
