The vineyard called Il Glicine extends over 1 hectare in the Sasella sub-zone at 359 meters, in the commune of Sondrio. Glicine is the Italian word for wisteria; and this colorful plant clings to the rocky crags that dominate the entire plot. This nebbiolo goes through fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 2 weeks with maceration for 6 days. Afterwards it goes through malolactic fermentation and then aging for 12 months in barriques. The Glicine is the most aromatic and beautiful wine of the Sandro Fay Valtellina Superiore lineup. Soft and elegant at first but with a bit of a tannin to follow. Try with lighter meals, roasted chicken or creamy pastas.
