2013 was a fantastic vintage for Tenutarossa,
as we can see from this powerful, rich, and complex wine, made with 100% Montepulciano
grapes from 40 year sold vines. The grapes are picked up during the
third decade of October, and then pressed and fermented for
20 days. After a storage of 18 months in steel tanks to facilitate the
decantation, the wine ages for about 18 - 22 months in 20 hl oak barrels.
Visually, the wine has a rich red color, which is both
bold and beautiful. This amazing wine has
a complex bouquet of ripe red fruit and dark berries, combined
with an earthy intrigue, framed by hints of toasty oak,
tobacco spices, vanilla and cinnamon. It is well-rounded with
a good, soft structure and a long, full finish where
the richness and complexity dominate. It is a perfect pairing with lasagne,
braised or grilled red meats, wild game,
strongly
seasoned or herbal cheeses, and sausage. The bottle design called Fortuna, which really suits this elegant wine!
