Description

The 2013 Orlando Abrigo Meruzzano Barbaresco DOCG is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes that are grown in the municipality of Treiso, in the Northern Italian region of Piemonte. Barbaresco must be made from 100% Nebbiolo and be aged at least 2 years before release or 4 years for a Riserva. In the glass the wine is a garnet red color. The nose has aromas of raspberries, violets, spices, leather, cassis, and hints of geranium. The Palate is rich with flavors of ripe cherries, currants, tobacco, spices and supple tannins leading to a lengthy flavorful finish. This wine is ready for enjoyment now but can develop with several further years of aging due to its great balance and acidity. Wonderful tannic structure with a lingering finish, you can pair it with grilled meats, hearty pasta dishes, assorted salumi and aged cheeses.
