This beautiful blend of Cannonau, Carignano, Muristellu, Cagnulari, and Bovale was created by Quartomoro Orriu which embodies the essence of Sardinia.
The color is a bright garnet with orange reflections. Initially shy on the nose, the bouquet opens up gradually, with intense aromas of raspberry, blackcurrant, jack fruit, and flowers, followed by jams, punch, dark chocolate, spices, eucalyptus, and Mediterranean forest.
It is vigorous and aromatic. The palate is tense, warm, and smooth, with flavors of cherry, plum, dark berries, sweet herbs, and a light note of pepper. It has an initial bitter tinge in the back palate, and a long lingering finish full of herbs, dark chocolate, and fruit.
This powerful wine is the perfect balance of tradition and modernity, and matches fabulously with savory food or roasted and BBQ meats.
