Located among the Langhe hills, Barolo is a collection of different mesoclimate, soil types, altitudes and expositions that can have a pronounced effect on the development of the Nebbiolo grape and the resulting Barolo wine. Barolo "Monvigliero" comes from one of the best areas of Verduno, and after aging at least three years in oak casks it presents a color of garnet red with orange tinges. The aroma is full, ethereal, and lingering with a hint of florals and fruits amalgamated with the scent of spices and essences. The palate echoes these aromas, and boasts a dry, intense, robust but velvety and harmonic mid-palate and lengthy finish. This wine goes well with red meat, game and matured cheese. It is advised to drink it at a temperature of 18-20C, decanting for sediment and aeration one hour. This wine has been made and bottled by oenologist Paolo Torchio.
