This 100% pure-blooded Sangiovese Grosso from Monte Cucco is made by well-known wine-maker and owner Paolo Vagaggini in who is considered to be one of the world's experts on Sangiovese and has been named as one of the top ten oenologists in Italy! 2010 Sangiovese Riserva is aged in French and Slovenian oak barrels for three years, with long maceration on the skins, which increase the excellent characteristics of this fabulous wine. This 12 year old wine is drinking very nicely like a good Brunello now.
This fabulous wine needs 1 hours to open up properly, but good right
out of the bottle (So much better once it opens up, so be
patient).
The color is an intense ruby red with a delicate fruity fragrance, like cranberries and dark cherry. Also chocolate and licorice add to a good experience. 2010 Sangiovese Riserva has firm and smooth tannins. The pleasant acidic aftertaste in this multi layered great wine. 14.5% alcohol by volume.
