Pergola Rosso DOC is a small region within the boundaries of Le Marche. The wine of this region is made from Vernaccia di Pergola (otherwise known as Aleatico), and surprises many people by having a quality that is both sweet and dry at the same time. Many compare it to the Lacrima variety. Lubaco is aged for at least one year in barrique with fining in the bottle.  Afterwards, the wine is matured in oak barrique for 14-18 months and refined for at least 6 months in the bottle. The result is a full bodied red wine with an intense and complex aroma. It emanates to the nose floral hints of wild rose, violet and cyclamen. This intoxicating aroma recalls cherries, tobacco, pink pepper, and hard leather. The taste is full with sweet tannins that leave a round aftertaste.
