The owners at Carvinea wanted to produce the greatest wines of the area and part from the traditional grapes of Puglia. They decided to plant Montepulciano, Aglianico, and Petite Verdot, and to join forces with the number one winemaker in Italy to produce their wines.
Frauma is a ruby red wine with purplish reflections. The delicate and balanced scent with initial reminders of berries and sweet spices, it is sustained well by more lively aromas that evoke tobacco, mint and leather, accented with a balsamic hint. Tasty and strong at first, it becomes warm and balanced, able to excite in a long finish with a dynamic elegance. Tonneaux and bottle aged for 16 months.
