Gigante has
been producing some of Friuli’s finest wines for the past 58 years and their
2007 vintage of Pignolo is
no exception. Grown in rich marl soil along the eastern hills of Friuli this
wine has developed a powerful bouquet of leather, spice and petrichor. Aged for 24 months in oak and another 24
months in bottle and steel tanks, the flavor profile is powerful yet refined
and carries hints of plum, black currant and slight minerality. Pignolo is
renowned for it’s intense tannic structure allowing a long life-span; with
nearly 10 years of aging this bottle is ready to be enjoyed. Pair with red
