2006 Montefalco
Sagrantino
DOCG is dedicated to the founder of the winery, Domenico
Adanti,
and is made from the best selection of grapes, grown
exclusively in a vineyards on the hills
of
Colcimino.
Aging
for 30
months in oak barrels and 24 months in the bottle
gives this bold, structured wine nice and smooth tannins. This opaque wine has an intense ruby red color and
garnet hues.
The nose
is clean, pleasing, refined and elegant with aromas of black cherry, blackberry
and plum,
followed
by violet, tobacco, vanilla, chocolate, leather, and cinnamon. The palate is as
lovely as the nose, with velvety tannis,
great balance,
and
a well-
rounded
full body. The finish is persistent with flavors of blackberry, black cherry
and plum. A must try with your next red meat dish!
