Founded in 1898, the Contini winery is one of the oldest wine producers in Sardegna. Through the years, they have remained a small family establishment in order to ensure quality and precision from the vineyard to the cellar. Their goal is to create wines that are modern in concept and meet the demands of the Italian wine drinking community while preserving the methods of traditional Sardinian winemaking.
Contini is located in the town of Cabras within the province of Oristano. This area has a unique Mediteranean microclimate, with mild winters, limited rainfall and very hot, airy summers, allowing the grapes to fully ripen. The alluvial, sand and clay soils give the wines of this area an extremely unique character. In fact, the vines are cultivated in a fairly unusual bush form, known as “alberello latino”.
